Thirties to Twenties

From an innocent, nonchalant and unworried age,
You’re going to usher into a wild, barbaric and unforgiving range.
Do not be tamed, oppressed and put in a cage,
Always remember in the act of life – the world’s your stage.

You will fly, soar high, away from your nest,
Finding riches and prestige in an unending quest.
A long pursuit leaving you longing for a mother’s breast,
Recognise that family matchlessly prevails in every contest.

Time and tide will bring you love and solace,
Love fiercely, unconditionally, without a space.
A devoted, undistracted heart is the most habitable place,
An honest, untethered soul has the warmest embrace.

Don’t lose hope when you’re down, muddled in a mess,
In a lonely strange world, have a song in your heart, be fearless.
A happy, content and smiling heart can recover all illness,
In a cruel, inhuman world, choose kindness.

From an innocent, nonchalant and unworried age,
You’re going to usher into a wild, barbaric and unforgiving range.
Do not be tamed, oppressed and put in a cage,
Always remember in the act of life – the world’s your stage!

With love from the future,
